This webinar will offer insight into how the Glen Cove Senior Center’s Lifelong Learning MindAlert 2012 award winning program achieved the success it has come to know.  Gain unique insight into implementing your adult education programs through setting goals, finding and hiring speakers, and overcoming financial obstacles so that older adults discover themselves in new and exciting ways.

Participants in this web seminar will:

  • Receive valuable tips that will help enrich existing programs, and receive tips on creating effective and stimulating new programs to enhance the lives of older adults
  • Learn ways  to reach out to older adults and assist them in discovering new interests or rekindling old talents which they can then apply to both work and leisure
  • Be inspired with ideas on how to identify helpful resources (both monetary and in-kind) within their communities
  • Gain insight on how to present a fascinating multicultural world and the many joys that can be derived from sharing cultures
  • Earn one hour of  *free* continuing education credit by attending the event and completing a CEU survey

 

Presenter:

Lucy Van Horn is the Activities Coordinator  at the Glen Cove Senior Center in Long Island, New York and is the Coordinator of this year’s ASA MindAlert 2012 winning program Passport to Wellness: Lifelong Learning. She has worked in the field of aging for the last nine years and has  vast knowledge and experience in planning, coordinating and executing a wide array of unique senior programming.
