Congratulations to all the 2016 student recipients of Southwest Airlines vouchers to attend the 2016 Aging in America Conference! We are no longer accepting applications at this time.
We at the American Society on Aging, in partnership with Southwest Airlines (SWA), are happy to announce a new initiative designed to help students in fields related to aging with the cost of traveling to the 2016 Aging in America Conference in Washington DC. Through this program, ASA will award a limited number of Southwest Airlines round-trip vouchers to graduate and undergraduate students in the fields with a significant focus on aging issues.
Application Information and Selection Guidelines:
The ASA-SWA program provides assistance to students who travel from airports served by Southwest Airlines, especially those traveling significant distances to attend the 2016 Aging in America Conference in Washington DC. Vouchers do not have a cash value and must be used for Conference travel only. The vouchers do not cover ground transportation or any non-airfare expenses.
We use the following criteria to select scholarship recipients:
Note that the application requires short essay responses and a recommendation, and if chosen you will need to provide a photo and a brief bio for a public announcement.
We will choose recipients on a monthly basis through January 2016 until all available vouchers have been awarded. We will notify recipients via email, and we will send your SWA voucher to your specified work or home address, which must be an address at which we can obtain signature-verified proof of delivery.
