ASA Receives Atlantic Philanthropies Grant for Civic Engagement Program

The American Society on Aging is pleased to announce that The Atlantic Philanthropies has extended its support of ASA’s civic engagement program for the coming year. Among our activities, ASA will hold civic engagement sessions at the September 2008 East and West Coast Conferences, present a National Forum on Civic Engagement at the Aging in America Conference in Las Vegas in March 2009, establish a civic engagement online learning community, publish a civic engagement e-newsletter, continue the “Engaged Age” columns in Aging Today, and identify and showcase replicable models of civic engagement projects in communities of color. The grant also supports three New Ventures in Leadership (NVL) partners who will be selected based on civic engagement projects in communities of color.
