Housing, Accessibility and Technology

ASA’s professional education and training services and programs use 10 main topics to structure our knowledge offerings; these ten topics form the basis for the subject-matter organization of our annual conference and webinars, and of our web site. You can most quickly locate articles and other resources relating to these specific topics by selecting one from the main Education or side navigation menus.

This is the starting page for topics related to Housing, Accessibility and Technology which covers such areas as Aging in Place; Assisted Living; Disabilities/Accessibility; Functional Ability and Rehabilitation Housing; Livable Communities; Shared Residential Settings; Technology: Environmental and Health; and Transportation.

In this ASA Chicagoland Roundtable we will explore how we can work together to make our communities more supportive of aging.

Full Description:

As we move more towards community-based solutions to providing services and supporting people as they age in their communities, how people live, where they live, and how they get around becomes increasingly important.

In this ASA Chicagoland Roundtable we will explore how we can work together to make our communities more supportive of aging. We will hear from four local voices, each bringing a different perspective from various fields that, when stitched together, have the potential to make significant changes in our communities to better support people as they age.

As a result of this roundtable attendees will have a greater understanding of what is happening both nationally and locally in the livable communities movement; learn about critical issues for consideration as our own communities age; generate ideas for opportunities in their own work or community; and learn about new opportunities for collaboration and advocacy.

Join us as we look toward the future of aging communities in our region.
