ASA Chicagoland Roundtable - Choices and Comfort in the End Stages of Life
Thursday, June 8, 2017

Location:

5th Floor, Room 542, Brainard

Despite increasing conversations surrounding the end stages of life, individual choice in end-of-life decisions is often overlooked. Without knowledge of options, older adults with life-threatening conditions may succumb to unnecessarily prolonged pain and suffering from end-of-life care. The choices of Palliative Care, Hospice Services and Medical Aid in Dying can empower older adults to choose quality of life over quantity of care.
In the context of these end-of-life choices, the controversial issues, family conversations, cultural differences, and cognitive/psychological impairment difficulties will be discussed.
Join ASA to hear from a panel of professionals as they discuss the impact these services have on those battling life-threatening conditions.
