Full Description: 

At the end of the day, the participants will be able to: 1. Describe the spectrum of symptoms and functional impairments facing patients with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and how an interdisciplinary and palliative care approach can help. 2. Summarize the current concepts regarding diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson's Disease in the older patient. 3. Describe the emotional, spiritual, and financial challenges facing dying patients and their caregivers. 4. Outline and evidence-based approach to preventing falls and fall-related injury in your primary care patient. 5. Practice gait assessment and the appropriate use of canes and walkers for older patients.
