While about half of people age 85+ years have Alzheimer’s disease, the other half do not, and this webinar will discuss these people that apparently have a resistance to dementia. Both environmental and genetic factors that clearly play a role in these dynamics will be discussed, particularly for those surviving beyond the age of 100 years.

Participants in this web seminar will:

  • Understand epidemiology of cognitive impairment at extreme age
  • Discover risk factors for cognitive impairment at older ages
  • Learn about current research and promising future directions
  • Earn one hour of  *free* continuing education credit by attending the event and completing a CEU survey

Presenter:

Dr. Tom Perls is the Director of the New England Centenarian Study and a geriatrician at Boston Medical Center and Associate Professor of Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine.
