Elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation are silent problems that robs older adults of their dignity, security, and—in some cases—their lives. Up to 5 million older Americans are abused every year, and the annual loss by victims of financial abuse is estimated to be at least $2.6 billion.  What is the scope of the problem and how are government and philanthropy working to identify and solve the complex issues involved? Join us for this important web seminar to learn more. Presenters are two of the most important voices in this field: Kathy Greenlee, administrator of the Administration for Community Living and the U.S. Assistant Secretary for Aging; and Terry Fulmer, president of the John A. Hartford Foundation, to discuss promising new approaches and how we all can play a role in the solution.

Presenters:

Terry Fulmer, Ph.D., R.N., F.A.A.N., is president of the John A Hartford Foundation in New York City.
Kathy Greenlee, J.D., serves in the dual roles of administrator of the Administration for Community Living and Assistant Secretary for Aging. She was appointed by President Obama as Assistant Secretary for Aging at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and confirmed by the Senate in June 2009.
