Join the Center for Aging & Disability Education & Research (CADER) at Boston University School of Social Work, the Suicide Prevention Program at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), and the John A. Hartford Foundation for this web seminar on how to develop programs that improve services to older adults by enhancing workforce capacity. Seminar content includes an overview of CADER’s online training program (given to 125 Council on Aging staff), which addresses the core knowledge and skills needed to effectively identify and respond to older adults with mental health and substance use concerns, to increase older adults’ resilience, and to prevent suicide. Participants will learn about how the Hartford–NASW Supervisory Leaders in Aging (SLA) program improves the delivery of healthcare and social services to older adults by strengthening the supervisory skills of staff that provide direct social services.
