Age-Inclusive Management Strategies:
On Aging Institute Learning Collaborative
Join a new 6-month program offered by the On Aging Institute, in partnership with Age-Inclusive Management Strategies (AIMS).
Americans are living longer, healthier lives, and many are choosing or needing to remain in the workforce well beyond traditional retirement age.
We invite you to participate in a 6-month Learning Collaborative, offered by a team of experts who have successfully supported hundreds of employers by addressing their older workforce needs, adopting age-inclusive management policies, and implementing programs for older workers. Participants will meet once a month for 90 minutes and will complete work outside of the group meeting.
The Learning Collaborative will meet online over the course of 6 months, using independent learning opportunities and shared meeting times. Along the way, the AIMS Project Team is available to provide one-on-one assistance.
An Opportunity for Employers
Recent estimates indicate that by 2030, older adults will fill more than 150 million jobs globally, and are more likely to work for organizations that value their skills and experience.
Older workers have been shown to be more reliable, offer great mentorship potential, and are not as costly as has been assumed.
Employers that adopt human resource policies and management practices for an older workforce will gain a competitive edge in recruitment and retention.
Why should your organization participate in the Learning Collaborative?
- The 6-month education and training program is tailored to your organization’s needs.
- You’ll receive 10 hours of individualized professional consultation over the 6-month program.
- You’ll walk away with strategies to attract, retain, and support a multigenerational workforce, ensuring labor-force continuity and reducing turnover costs.
- You’ll stay ahead of legal and competitive risks by proactively addressing the challenges of an older workforce and avoiding potential age-discrimination issues.
- You’ll improve your organization’s readiness to adopt age-inclusive policies and practices, identify actionable next steps, and design a sustainable strategic plan for your aging workforce.
- After completing the AIMS Learning Collaborative, employers may join the AARP pledge program and receive a designation as an AARP age-friendly employer. Participants also receive access to the AARP Employer Resource Center.
- The Learning Collaborative provides participants with up to 20 hours of continuing education credits from SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management). Employers also are provided access to resources covering topics in each of the cohort trainings.
