ASA Community Groups

In ASA’s 2026 Community Survey, 313 respondents said they want connection with peers facing similar challenges. Community Groups are a new way that ASA is meeting this need for our members.

Community Groups are designed to attract members with a broad range of expertise and interests, and create a space where you can bring that expertise to bear on critical issues of the day. For example, if you are an expert on ageism awareness, you may want to join the AI & Field of Aging group if you are passionate about reducing age-related biases in AI applications and use. Or, if you are working within an aging services organization designing programs or delivering services, you may want to join the HIV & Aging group so that you can get smart about the needs of your clients you may or may not know are living with HIV.

Each Community Group is organized around a specific issue, challenge, or opportunity in the aging field. Groups are facilitated by ASA staff, meet on a regular schedule, and bring together people from different corners of the field who are working on the same questions. What’s learned in each group gets captured and shared across the ASA community, so every member benefits, whether they’re in the group or not.

Community Groups are open to all ASA members. You can join as many groups as you’d like. And if your specific area of expertise or interest isn’t

Not a member? Community Groups are a benefit of ASA membership. Join ASA to participate.
