Description:

Ageism is a widespread and socially accepted form of prejudice that impacts our health, financial security and economy. It is defined by the World Health Organization as the stereotypes (how we think), prejudice (how we feel) and discrimination (how we act) toward others or oneself based on age. To combat this widespread form of prejudice, we need your help.

Join our Ageism & Culture Advisory Council as we discuss how we can work together to celebrate Ageism Awareness Day on Oct. 9, 2024. Learn about how to take action and combine our efforts to make a difference this year. This webinar will cover the many ways individuals and organizations can take part, using ASA’s Ageism Awareness Day toolkit (available online). The webinar will include suggestions and resources for how to reach the media, community leaders and individuals in your networks. Together, we can make a difference! Ageism Awareness Day provides an opportunity to draw attention to the existence and impact of ageism and take steps to eradicate it.

Presented by ASA’s Ageism & Culture Advisory Council.
