Today, helping families to create a personal road map for the future is more critical than ever. Most people understand the importance of planning for the future, but often avoid preparing a plan for aging until a crisis occurs. Mapping out the later stages of life provides older adults with more control and freedom. It also can help to ensure that their wishes are communicated, so when they need more help, family and friends will know what is important to them, and why. Advanced planning also helps to establish realistic expectations based on health status, family history, budget, available support and current home environment. And advance planning will provide guidance as care needs change. Join this webinar to learn more about what should be included in an aging road map and tips on how to help guide older adults along their aging journey.
Objectives:
- Review the aging process and what to expect as older adults progress from independence to needing more support;
- Learn how to help families guide the conversation on sensitive subjects such as health, finances and end of life;
- Explore tools to help older adults develop a plan to prepare for their long-term care needs as they age; and
- Identify trends in products and services that can support the increasing needs of older adults as they age in place.
